INTRODUCTION SPACE EXPLORATION TIMELINE
THE SPACE SHUTTLE THE HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE
LIVING IN SPACE THE FUTURE
The objects in the night sky have fascinated people on Earth for thousands of years. For the past few hundred years, telescopes have allowed people to get a closer look at the stars and planets in the sky, but it has only been in the last century that actual exploration of these objects has been possible. Space craft have visited all but one of the planets, Man has walked on the Moon and man-made objects have landed on Venus and Mars to send back information about these strange worlds. Regular journeys into space and back now take place, with space holidays being a future possibility. A huge space station is being built in orbit around Earth and a manned landing on Mars will happen in the near future.
