Hi Bob! What person and in what year did somebody discover Jupiter? Jupiter has been observed from Earth for thousands of years because it can be seen without binoculars or a telescope! Nobody knows who the first person was who noticed it so nobody is actually credited with discovering it. This is also the case for Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn.
