||The name given to the Sun and its family of planets and
dwarf planets (plus their moons), comets and asteroids. The Sun is at the centre
of the Solar System with all of the other objects held in orbit of it by the
Sun's gravitational pull. Earth is one of the planets in the Solar System, and
the only one known to have life. The Solar System is
considered to end when the Sun's gravity no longer has an effect. Other stars
also have objects like planets and comets orbiting them, so can also be
considered to be solar systems.
